Every industry has their Oscars. When it comes to Live Cam, the Live Cam Awards, which only focuses on this form of erotica, is slowly becoming the Oscars of Webcam modelling. On Monday 15 March, the Live Cam Awards 2021 were held. The 7th edition, like most events in the COVID era, was unfortunately conducted online without an accompanying ceremony. However, this does not change the stature of the event, which is getting bigger and more prestigious every year.
What is the Live Cam Awards?
There is still a general belief that performing in front of the webcam is just an additional way to make some extra money. However, given the speed at which the industry is growing, the high level of competition and the increasing number of professional studios and even training facilities, being a professional model is actually a full-time job. Therefore, the mission of the Live Cam Awards is to honour those individuals and companies that promote this form of eroticism.
The first edition of the Live Cam Awards took place in March 2015. It was the first event in the world to exclusively reward models and companies related to the live cam performance industry. It was founded by Romanian Alexandra Georgia, who at the age of 18 created her first account on one of the platforms in order to become financially independent. She felt from the very beginning that this industry needed this kind of event. So for several years she looked at other events she had attended and always paid close attention to the way they were organised. When she felt that both herself and the industry were ready, she decided to organise and present the Live Cam Awards for the first time.
Winners of the 7th edition of the Live Cam Awards 2021
In 2021, awards were given in 38 categories. This is 8 fewer than in 2020. However, taking into account the difficult times in which the event took place, and the fact that this year it was held without an accompanying ceremony, this is still not a small amount. Below are the winners of the most interesting categories for me:
Best Female Live Cam Model – ChronicLove
ChronicLove is the first model in LCA history to receive the Best Model award for a second time. She received the first one in 2019. ChronicLove appears exclusively on the Chaturbate platform and she is one of the most popular models on that site.
