The continued effects of the COVID-19 pandemic saw persistent emotional, social, health, and financial challenges for the adult industry in 2021. Despite this, Pineapple Support, backed by its sponsors, saw continued growth and increased reach.

“2021 was a crucial year for Pineapple Support, as the adult industry continued to grapple with the pandemic, as well as the financial strains that it caused,” says Leya Tanit, founder, and CEO of Pineapple Support. “Demand for support continued to soar throughout the year, with record numbers of performers seeking help. Pineapple therapists, partners, supporters, sponsors, and staff really pulled through, helping us to surpass our predictions and reach a significant – though sobering – milestone of having connected over 5,000 performers with mental health services.”

By the end of the year, the organization had:

  • Connected nearly 3,000 performers, producers, and other members of the adult community with emotional support and therapy
  • Provided over 16,000 one-on-one therapy sessions to adult performers and producers
  • Recruited more than 90 new therapists worldwide
  • Added 16 new sponsors
  • Hosted over 30 webinars and 100 support group meetings
  • Spoken at or attended 12 major industry events
  • Provided active listening to 860 individuals in need of emotional support

The End of Year review covers how the organization responded to enduring COVID-19 restrictions and effects, its continued programs and new initiatives, and its growing membership.
